Scheduling sessions for June, July and August too!

April has been a busy month and May is looking to be just as busy too. I am booked solid for May and now scheduling sessions for June and July.

As for August, like many native Washingtonians…I try to spend as little time as possible in the city cause it is HOT! I will be in the in the Outer Banks of North Carolina on vacation with my family for two weeks, but I will be offering limited sessions while I am there. I will post more details later, but it is never too soon to get on the calender!

Here are some of my favorite images from the beach taken last year.

Brothers

This morning I got to hang out with two of the cutest little boys ever! Mr H was full of energy and ready to explore one of DC most spectacular hidden treasures, the Bishops Garden at the National Cathedral. Mr. J was all smiles especially for his big brother.

Mr. J smiled with his eyes…look at him!

And his more serious side

Here is his big brother, Mr. H.

Miss R

Today I had the pleasure to spend the morning with Miss “R “and her amazing mom. Mom and “R” are two happy peas in pod. Relaxed and laid back, tackling the world one day at a time. Miss “R” has to be one of the calmest sweetest babies I have ever met. Hardly fussed but when she did need some soothing, music was her thing. Music calmed her right down, even my off key pitchy singing voice. When “R” is awake she is taking in the world through her big beautiful blue eyes.

Mom is jetting off to see family in Australia this week, so I wanted to give her a sneak peek before she goes.

Kimberly - gorgeous – you do an incredible job of catching each child’s unique sense of being . . .

“B” boys

I was honored that my friend and mom to one of Eli’s best buddies “G” asked me to photograph her boys. It is a real treat when when women you meet through your kids, become your friends, and then they add ask me to capture their kids. I am always touched and so glad to do it, because I realize what a special privilege it is.

Yesterday, Eli and I went to G’s grandma’s house for our shoot. It is one of the gorgeous old homes right in the center of Cleveland Park. The kind you walk by and ogle at, but it was also filled with gorgeous natural light. I mean the kind of light as a photographer you dream about finding and shooting with.

So these kids were a riot. It was a Friday after school and lets face it, by Friday most kids are done. They are just plain exhausted from keeping it together all week. So we had our moments, and after 4 hours I am sure they were all ready for me to leave. But honestly I loved every minute of it. All three of them are so unique and really different. In my mind these three images really speak to who each one of them are. Cant wait to finish editing.

New Blog

So If you are a regular to my little world and if you have been paying attention… you might notice that I have a new blog. I had spent many a late night trying to manipulate my previous blog theme, and could not create the look I wanted. So I broke down and bought this one. Within a manner of 30 minutes, I was able to customize it. Still working on a few things…but so far I have to say it was money well spent. Only wish I had done it sooner. And I can display some nice big honking images too.

So I cant end a blog post without some images. Here are some personal images I have been working on.I have been trying to “embrace the grain” recently. In my old film days I loved grain. With digital, there is a tendency to smooth out a image by reducing the noise. But recently I am liking the noise, especially in my black and whites. Adds to the over all feel of an image.
