More Siblings

Friday morning I had the pleasure of a fun play-date with two great kids because they won a session at a school auction. There was lots of digging in the dirt (and some eating of dirt too) catching bubbles, and snacks. Photographing siblings can be kind of tricky…as any parent knows. You are lucky if you can get off a few shots before they are out of there. It is always the more challenging part and the most rewarding when you can get one great image of siblings together. So meet Mr. “A” and Miss “C”.

And one of the two of them, we used the bubbles to keep the stationary for a moment.

I am not jsut a photographer, I am a writer too!

Well sort of. My good friend Alicia suggested that I write an article for one of the local papers about kids and photography. When she first suggested this I though she was nuts. But Alicia being my sweet and wonderful friend, gave me the little pep talk/nudge that I needed. Since Alicia suggested this, and I know first hand how she can turn the most boring policy brief into a interesting and exciting page turner, I naturally I had her edit this article too. I am no dummy.

So here is my grand masterpiece. Just came out today. Grab you copy of the May issue of Washington Parent at local shops around town or you can find the online version of my article here Snap to it! 10 Tips for Perfect Photos by Emily Weiss

And if anyone is interested in lessons on how to operate a dslr, I am interested in giving lessons or maybe even a class. Give me a shout.
