Nothing like a good old fashioned trip to the pumpkin patch. Pumpkins, hay rides and potato sack slides and tons-o-fun.

Emily,
The slide show is truly incredible! I had no idea you were working on a masterpiece. I am crying as I type because I can so vividly remember the essence of pure happiness and relaxation we all shared. I even remember the not so happy moments (car in sand for example) and realize those moments make the whole experience more real and somehow even better. I only wish you included the trick toilet paper, it never fails to crack me up! You rock. Jagnigni
I am always in awe of the parents that decide to tackle three kids. I only have 2 and some days I feel like I am drowning…but those that do three are always outnumbered! I love to watch families together. Love to see how parents shepard their flock through life…because isn’t that really what our job as parents is really all about?
Last Sunday morning I was lucky enough to watch the “P” family as we strolled through Medowbrook Stables and then onto Candy Cane Park. With two active boys and a sweet baby girl these guys have their work cut out for them. But there was always a sense of calm and a knowledge of their limits.
The oldest of the bunch
The baby girl…you can tell she was the third child cause she was the easiest baby…happy and content and just went with the flow

And their 2nd boy who thought the best way to end a photo shoot is by playing int he puddle under the swings. I could not have agreed more! Classic boy childhood

Don’t know about you but we have been busy over here. Back to school, back to work, back to our routines. And right now I am in the midst of the busiest season of all…the lead up to the Holidays. If you are thinking about booking a session in time for cards, prints, anything for Holiday gifts…CALL NOW! My calender is filling up fast and there are very few slots open in which I can guarantee a delivery by the Holidays.
Meanwhile…I installed a brand spanking new shopping cart onto my site that WORKS! Anyone who struggles with my old one will greatly appreciate this new feature. And with a new cart is new pricing for the fall and some new products. Already posted about the Flush Mount Storyboards HERE. And about new Float Mount prints HERE.
In my off moments when I need a break, I have been trying to wade through the over 1000 ( yes that is right 1000!) images I took while on vacation in the Outer Banks this summer. It might take me until January to get them all proofed and edited…but it is fun to look through and remember good time with good friends. So here are a few of my favorites so far…and I don’t even feel like I have scratched the surface.

you take kick ass pictures!
On Monday I had the pleasure to spend time with the M family. After waiting for little miss M to awaken form an early cat nap, which she did happily, we headed down to the grounds of the Jefferson Memorial. It was a beautiful brisk fall morning. Miss M has got to be one of the happiest babies… so delightful and full of personality.

She is spouting two little chompers in front

Love her expression here

Hey stop kissing me I am trying to get a hold of my shoe!

The “E” Family are good friends and are some of my all time favorite people in the whole world. Our family visited their family in upstate New York on our big summer NY tour, where my kids destroyed their kid’s Nerf guns and gave their Star Wars Lego’s a good work out.
So I was really honored to be asked and excited to do this session for them in an urban location — H Street. We headed out on a brisk Sunday morning and had the place pretty much to ourselves. We found some fantastic back alleys, front stoops, and real urban backdrops. They were really up for just about anything and everything. Love it when a family does not even blink at my kooky ideas.
Here are some of the highlights

This kid has the most stunning eyes…and a sweet personality to go with them.

His older brother was not as excited to be a part of the action (it ain’t easy being 13 and the oldest) but you can tell he is a kind and gentle soul

Lastly just the two of them…

love love love the shot of the famiy walking! love it!
A friend who is working with The Lab School of Washington asked if I could come on campus for a two day shoot to provide the school with updated professional photographs for marketing materials. Specifically they needed photographs for a new Admission brochure, Annual Report, and to update their website.
This was a great marriage of what I love to do best…work with kids in their own space, on their own turf, being just who they are. Plus the Lab School has a special place for us in our family. My Mother-in-Law (aka Grandma) worked as the Assistant Director of the Lab school for almost 20 years. Thus the school has a special place in our hearts.
The admission brochure was just printed and it looks phenomenal! And it was such an exciting project to be a part of.
Here are a few images of the final brochure

My goal in all my sessions is for each client to walk away with a ready to hang custom piece featuring the photographs from our session. The photographs of your children and your family should speak for themselves. I want what you hang in your home to as unique and interesting as the the subjects…your kids!
Here is another great new product I am adding to my product line… a Float Mount Print. Your photograph is printed on metallic paper then mounted on wood that is finished with a thin black beveled edge. A 1/2 inch small box is adhered to the back which makes you print appear to float off the wall. It arrives with ready to hang hardware, no additional framing is necessary. Float mounts are a great way to display your photographs without the cost and hassle of custom framing.
As always I bring samples with me to every session so you can see up close what everything looks like. But here are a few images so you can get an idea of what they are like:

T and M are two darling siblings who think the Bishops Garden at the National Cathedral In Washington, DC is their own secret playground…as do I. I love this place for photos for kids because it is all contained and there are lots of little spots to play, run, and hide in. Plus it makes for the perfect spot to play football.
Mr. T says he is a Giants fan, which I can forgive (we are all die hard Redskins Fans at our house) since he has the sweetest face. He is so handsome. Those baby blues are the real deal…

Here is miss M, with her baby doll Zola.

When you have more than one kid you KNOW how hard it is to get the one of them together. I got the ONE.
It was not easy. These two were on the move the whole time, and as you can see I made them lie down int he grass just so they would could be still if only for a minute.

T and M I had a great time and I hope to ahve your gallery ready in the enxt week or so.
