GOTR 2010 Slideshow and Prints

My favorite part of this event is putting together the slideshow. I cant wait for all the photographers to get me their images, to see how they saw the day, and then put it altogether  as a visual story that represents the day and hope I do it justice.
A special shout out to the other photographers who took some amazing photographs Stephen Laico and Matthew D Lyons.
And this also means that all the photographs are ready for viewing here http://www.digiproofs.com/EmilyWeiss/
(EDITED: The original gallery has expired but please contact me if in interested in prints)

Yolanda Stallmann - Great pictures! It is amazing to see the emotions and hard work of these kids. My daughter run too and it is a great event! Thankx.

Carol - Emily,

I saw the whole race but didn’t see the entire picture. You do, and its timeless. You captivate those who see your pictures and your slideshow, and you capture the spirit of the program.

CLWB

Betsy - The pics and video brought tears to my eyes!! I can’t tell how amazing and powerful these images are – and for those of us trying to manage the chaos behind the scenes and missed seeing the girls, the slide show is a perfect reminder of why we were so manic!!
I can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work!!

Girls on the Run – Decmeber 2010

One word for the Girls on the Run 5K today: WET!  But it did not dampen the spirit, enthusiasm, and determination of these girls and their parents/run buddies/coaches.    You know they worked so hard to get here.   You can see it in their faces. This moment is huge, to finish is amazing, to see all the hard work pay off is exhilarating.

EDITED: Come view all the Race Day photos at: http://www.digiproofs.com/ecom/g.pl

This was my 5th time photographing this race and was my coldest, wettest, darkish conditions to date.  But I loved every minute of it.  Looking at these photographs, looking at their faces…these girls inspire me.

More photos to come!

Sweet and Wild

This family is near and dear to my heart. Their kids are friends with my kids; their boys are both sweet and wild all at the same time.

I am just in LOVE with film these days

My Skeleton and my Assassin

This year the boys came up with their own costume ideas and needed little input from mom.

Jackie - I LOVE the costumes and the pics!

Portia - Eli is so spooky!

Kierstan Schwab - Awesome! Your photos are outstanding!

Film Anyone?

I am having a love affair with black and white film again.

Simple, elegant, timeless.

I am dying to a whole photo-shoot just on black and white film and I am looking for a family or just the kids that that are game.  Specials on everything.

Is it you?  Call or email me!

Maternity Photography - Luv the black and white shots, awesome job!

JoJo Spallone - Spallones are up for it! Shoot me an email.
Hope all is well!

This little piggie…

had the best SNOUT!  What a funny looking animal.  I love the pumpkin patch if for only one thing, that my kids gets to see and touch real farm animals.  Living in the city it is not every day you get to see and touch piggies, goats, and cows.

I Love the Swings

I love to photograph children on the swings.  To me, swinging on the swings is akin to flying.

California loving

I {Heart} California.  I always have.  We finished off our summer with a two week adventure in California where we visited great friends, ate great food, and basked in the beautiful California sunshine.  Here are a few of my favorite things things I loved about our trip:

Finally meeting the beautiful children of old friends and falling in love

Manhandling by Homer Simpson

My kids mustering the courage to go on a thrill ride
Playing arcade games at the Santa Monica Pier

Petting farm animals at the Sonoma County Fair

The kids playing “dead-man” in the trampoline in their pajamas before bedtime

How time at playground always rights their ship

Giving the kids disposable cameras (and now anxiously awaiting to see what their world looks like)

The cement slides in San Francisco

I love California.  I love (and miss) all our friends who live there, the easy-going laid back attitude, the beautiful sunshine, the amazing food and wine… I love it all.
